The 'Merci' Train
We found the Wyoming 'Merci Box Car' at the local American Legion Post in Cheyenne. Following the devastation of WWII, tons of food was sent to France, primarily from US citizens . France returned a box car to each of the United States, filled with gifts from the French people, such as hand made items, etc. as a way of saying thanks for helping in time of need. Many of the States have put these box cars on display . When we remember, we try and find them. We found this one by accident. The
